This big woolly boy will steal your heart as soon as you meet him!   His default mode is plenty of woo woos, followed by ramming his big boof head into you for pats, then he quickly lays down for belly rubs.

Poor Memphis came to us with one of the worst cases of coat matting we have ever seen.  He’s still a work in progress, but after a bit of clipping, a wash, slow gradual brushing and lots of treats to get used to being groomed, his long coat is on its way back to being luscious instead of painful and filthy.

Memphis loves his walks but tires easily, so he needs someone who understands his abilities and potential and is prepared to do ongoing training to work on his manners.

Memphis is a typically stubborn Mal, so this coupled with his size and long coat makes breed experience essential for any new home.  A love of grooming is essential with this furry fellow, but you will need to be patient with him and restrict the brushing sessions to a few minutes at a time as he gets used to it.

Although he is quite tolerant of other dogs being around him, he needs to be an only dog at this stage.  He will need a home with no cats or other small pets, and any children would need to be secondary school aged.

Memphis is needing a long-term foster home, preferably with someone who is used to handling a big, boisterous, fun-loving Malamute!

Memphis is not available for interstate adoption and is not suitable for apartments, homes with small yards or rural areas.
