Adopting a new best friend will likely be one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have.  You’ve just said yes to giving a deserving dog a second chance at life.

Aside from knowing you’ve given a dog a second chance at life and the loving home that they deserve, there are many reasons why adoption might be the best choice for you!

Why adopt?

Adopting a middle-aged or older dog can be an excellent introduction to the breed for a first time Arctic dog owner. It’s true that Arctic breeds can be challenging dogs to own at times, and we may be able to recommend a more laid back dog for those new to the breed.

And many of you don’t want to go through the ‘puppy stage’ again anyway.   Yeah they’re cute, but young pups require so much time and energy.  The reality is, most of us today have a busy life and are time-poor, and leaving an eight week old pup home alone for several hours a day might not end well for you, the pup, your yard, or your furniture!

As our dogs are living in foster homes whilst they wait for their perfect forever home, you’ll be able to find out a lot more about the dog than you would otherwise.  You’ll know what you’re signing up for and have a good understanding of the dog’s individual needs.

What if it doesn’t work out?

We want the best for you and the dog, which is why all our dogs are adopted out on a minimum two-week trial period.

Think of it like a safety net, if the dog isn’t fitting into your lifestyle as well as you’d imagined or is just not the right dog for you, you won’t find yourself facing the horrible decision of surrendering a dog to the pound.  We will take the dog back into our care, and we’ll even refund the adoption fee.
